Knowing When to Ask for Help for Caregiver Burnout
According to the Coalition on Aging, 80% of the care elders receive in this country is from family members. Caring for an aging adult can be emotionally and physically exhausting, especially if you have other family members who need your time and attention as well. Research shows that there is a high level of stress-related illness, depression and social isolation among caregivers often due to a lack of skills, unreasonable expectations, role confusion and a sense of losing control.
Our role as care consultants is to help families sort through these issues and learn how to problem-solve their way into a better quality of life for everyone.
